Snowshoeing
If you want to enjoy the winter off the crowded ski slopes and lifts, you are best off with snowshoes! Everyone who has ever experienced the magic of a snow-covered winter landscape off the beaten track knows that snowshoeing is much more than simply trotting across the snow.
Our snowshoe hikes usually start on the summit of the Untersberg mountain, which is easily reached by cabler car. In adverse weather conditions, there are several other spectacular and remote mountains in the Berchtesgaden region to choose from.

Meeting point at the cable car at the cash desk / Distribution of rental equipment and a short briefing / We start our tour at the summit station and continue with a modest hike across the snow-covered plateau of the Untersberg mountain - breath-taking views of the surrounding mountains and the city of Salzburg included. The scenic unique walk across the plateau leads us to the “Großer Eiskeller” karst ice cave. We continue our tour across the “Salzburger Hochthron” summit (1853 m) until we reach our starting point (Geiereck, 1805m). Eventually, we will take a well-deserved rest in an alpine hut, where we can enjoy drinks and delicious traditional meals. At the end of our tour, we will take the cable car back to the valley station (St. Leonhard).
